"Poetry I have lived my life - where the highway goes divided - A child's imagination looks like the devil incarnate - The angry buzz - Trembling hands - Sit in the middle of this chaos - The reeds are a forest, though they are but three rows - on half-constructed roads, wet with already-drying rain - wherein she utters strange, guttural incantations, hoping to gut him like all the others - with heads held down in depression - just outside of awareness - where there was recently emptiness, a dread in the air - which holds yet another doomed, idle spawn inside its tangles - In an act of involuntary penance, the new models ooze blood on their way to the slaughterhouse - There’s foil confetti everywhere - Setting the past on fire - the juke box dormant - but a few broken doll parts morph into tiny voodoo dolls and start a spell - A blue basketball rolls briskly in front of my car, and two boys scream - The ghost ship leaves a trail to my door..."
