A NEW mini-review of Juliet Cook's NEW poetry book, "Malformed Confetti"!

"All hail the Queen of Grotesque, Juliet Cook! Her imagery is monstrous, distorted and unnatural — an unmistakably unstable mixture of estranged dollcanos and blood."
the beginning of a mini-review (that also appears as a back cover blurb) by the wonderful Susan Yount, of Juliet Cook's NEW poetry book, "Malformed Confetti (published by Crisis Chronicles Press,October 2018)

Another NEW Review of an old book, "Horrific Confection" (AND a link to a new book,"Malformed Confetti")

"This is a dark collection of poetry focusing on childhood fears, eating disorders, body dysmorphia and…..cake. Well that is the feeling I get from reading this, it leaves a lot to the reader’s imagination, how you read certain lines in each poem can change the whole poem completely, it’s all very clever.
The book seems to span a great distance, with early poems showing childhood fears and being in awe of her mum, and then in later poems the poet has grown up and is writing about sex and her own baby (which I think may or may not have flippers)."

A NEW Review of an old book, "Horrific Confection" (AND a link to a new book,"Malformed Confetti")

"Spin sugar with blood. Add cream, other miscellaneous bodily fluids and a dash of disease. Fold in your stitches and scars. Whisk for 2 minutes, then add emotional trauma to taste."

NEW in Bone & Ink Press - Invasive Dead Leaf by Juliet Cook

"Maybe I'd rather be eaten
on the inside, instead of chewing off
someone else's head in less than ten minutes.
Dead leaf, devil's flower, I don't believe
in these judgmental gods that escalate
the hate in a different direction."
