The NEW July Flock of Thirteen Myna Birds is HERE!

The NEW July flock of Thirteen Myna Birds has arrived! Offering poetry/art by David Henson - Wayne F Burke - MISH - Abigail Denton - Robert Beveridge - Darryl Shupe - Juliet Cook - Linda Umans.

Rats chewed through our foundation - the cadavers of all the women - the DNA particles from a lost love rise up in the feathers and re-break her heart - the crazy girl I thought I was rid of - The mother asked her daughter if she’d like to adopt another doll - The girl said she wanted one without a head - Some days I walk in the alcove between my face and my skull - Sometimes I feel like executing my brain - pages loved now crumbled - It’s no use thinking - I knew the answer before the question was asked - It wasn’t the first time I was murdered - I’m out to sea in a hurricane - the serial killer in your epiglottis sent down to the acid pit - suspicious of everyone - (the ones who are still speaking to me).

The NEW May 2022 flock of Thirteen Myna Birds is HERE !

The NEW May 2022 flock of Thirteen Myna Birds has arrived! Filled with poetry and art by Abigail Denton, Darryl Shupe, Sandra Feen, Linda Umans, Janet Kinaird Parker, Ken Poyner, Marc Vincenz, Joseph Cooper, and Paul Ilechko!

"There is a tree in my backyard from which pus-filled boils hang - At night I hear creaks coming from my dresser - Torpor trapped beneath fish scales - In the middle of a cloud of expectations - the perfect synthetic Mate - I thought I could escape him but he was everywhere - there was always something unpleasant in the weeds - the racing of rabbits racing through my mind - the antichrist to her cheer section - if I can push myself through the undying light of every morning and the corrosive darkness of every night, then I can be here and do this - make a wish for yourself that she'll morph into instant dead dandelion - Rain connecting endings that nobody likes - nobody told me I would miss it so much - My eyes dominated by the vain desire to be young - the sound a grapefruit makes when pried apart - the objects so alive were still so far removed - but now spits out the seeds and core - dust is mostly made from skin cells..."

The NEW March 2022 Flock of Thirteen Myna Birds is HERE

The NEW March flock of Thirteen Myna Birds is HERE! - https://13myna.blogspot.com/

With poetry by Lorna D. Keach, Lauren Reynolds, Kristin Garth, John Grey, Derek Lake Berghuis, Jan Ball, Maria Cameron, Meg Smith, Lillian Necakov, and art by MISH!

The ticket seller is asleep in his cage - my room had no window, only white liquor and a monsoon - the one who loves you shows you the trees full of hooks - like the leaf-light of the darkest forest - A room full of shrunken heads - with a gravel crunch and the click of teeth - willing to stand there skeletal but proud, with tiny brown corpses littered at their feet - more a death sentence, than impediment - Footsteps on their way and the figure could be skeletal, could be gaunt, could be anybody - I could see you becoming prey to some larger insect or bird - a wildness I’ve tried to hide, but can barely contain - I’m compelled to shelter Barbies in a plastic house inside a wooden one I own - Programmed and predictable, we are dominated by prayer - Behind the curtains of an invisible world - why would all your meat, be covered by a flimsy skin coat? - reflecting the thin arms of bare trees - The flaming sky signed our names in blood - The porcelain lamp shattered in your hand, and left no doubt - hearts holler joyfully into the black earth - tucked into the endoskeleton of your former lover - White light creeps into your eyes, where nothing lives.

🖤
The first Thirteen Myna Birds flock of 2022 is now upon us, offering poetry and art by Kim Malinowki, MISH, jck hnry, Wayne F. Burke, Geoff Sawers, and Peter Mladinic!
Coffins rose up - I’m cloaked in red hood—spinning - bobbing to the Earth's surface - she sits on a stool behind a plastic barrier - wears a mask just as we all do right now - my dream notes are confusing and filled with dark images - sharp, dripping canines - my inbox is filled with stark reminders - not that big a deal unless you are the one in the box - They all hate you but none understand you - Silk webs wrap half a hawthorn - I might paint my face so that my face is like a mask - bleached spine on a library shelf - A mole in the middle of my forehead grew into an eye - Blink and you'll never blink again - Don’t stop till I say Stop.
