When I disagree, you launch
into a vanishing act
until I change my mind
or make my own thoughts disappear,
but I have my own brain waves, brimming with mice

slithering out, descending limbs, disfigured stumps
transfigured into wings
with their own inflections.

The more you try to force me to see what you see,
the darker I will become until I am
saturated in the real me,
ascending into reverse abandonment.

an excerpt from Cook's poem "Thirteen Mice", which appears inside REVOLTING

Happy or Unhappy November! Creeping into November with Dissolution and Decay, a new poem by Juliet Cook in Rogue Agent!

Creeping into November with Dissolution and Decay, a new poem by Juliet Cook is now appearing in Issue 116 of Rogue Agent!

"I thought I had seen a hint
of blue. I momentarily thought
it was a new egg poking its way out
from a tiny gap in the old nest's fabric.
I temporarily imagined a mini forest
growing in all different directions
on all sides of the branches.

Then all the branches collapsed.
All the leaves fell down into ashes.
All the bright colors dissolved
or were covered up by dull brown
and gray. Dying hair and veins."

NEW! Two of Juliet Cook's creepy poems are newly appearing in Cul-de-sac of Blood!

Juliet Cook has two new short poems appearing in Cul-de-sac of Blood!

Usually when I have new poems up, I share a few lines from one of the poems, but this time I'm sharing Cul-de-sac of Blood's description of my poems because I love their description!
Furthermore, after you read the two poems, if interested you can click on "Learn More About These Poems".
Here's what Cul-de-sac said about my poems:
"Rotting bear dolls & chicken brains erase our heads & replace them with images of themselves, & though we might not have a name for this process, Juliet Cook’s poems show us what it feels like to find ourselves somewhere between foreground & background."
Read the poems HERE - https://www.culdesacofblood.com/juliet-cook-3
This photo of Henry Spencer (played by Jack Nance) in Eraserhead (directed by David Lynch) initially inspired the first poem.

NEW! Juliet Cook has FOUR NEW POEMS appearing within Cul-de-sac of Blood!

Juliet Cook is extremely delighted to have FOUR NEW POEMS appearing within Cul-de-sac of Blood!

Here's the editors description of the poems - The orbitoclast, a tiny hammerhead shark tap tapping us into place. “I was walking through a parking lot” leads us inevitably, somehow, to “I wasn’t sure if I was human anymore.” A standard red horror. In these poems by frequent contributor Juliet Cook, medically-induced terror finds us where we live

Here's a few lines from the poem "I Don't Like Primary Colors" -

"Little ghost tongues
try to splash out
of the water,
then slash themselves
into skulls,
marooned.
Sink back down."

And here's where you can read all four poems! - https://www.culdesacofblood.com/juliet-cook-2

Also, underneath the four poems, you can click on a link to learn a little bit more about the poems, such as what inspired them...

Juliet Cook has two creepy new poems bleeding their way through CUL-DE-SAC OF BLOOD!

Juliet Cook has two creepy new poems making an appearance inside the CUL-DE-SAC OF BLOOD.

The poems are entitled, "Thorns Stuck Inside My Left Foot" and "Knocked Out".

Underneath "Knocked Out", you may also click on "Learn More About These Poems", if so inclined...

"My life is not an embryonic petting zoo.
I don't want my foot transfixed inside a caged door.
My internal wine glasses start flying inside churches, hissing
at everyone who thinks they deserve to tell me what to do."

in the poem "Thorns Stuck Inside My Left Foot"

NEW! Two of Juliet Cook's creepy poems are hiding behind the walls in the CUL-DE-SAC OF BLOOD!

"I can pretend my house has turned into a giant
green goat shaped hot air balloon that protects
and serves an unlimited number of grasshoppers

before it pushes me over the edge
and I splatter down hard. From sweet to bloody
oblivion. Synapses massacred."

Also, under her two poems, you can click on "Learn more about these poems" and read some of her thoughts.

For example...

"Women bleed and bleed until the menstrual blood stops, their bodies age, and they speed race closer to death. If you didn't get chased to death and chainsawed or stabbed or bludgeoned or otherwise eviscerated when you were younger, then it won't be long before your body starts eviscerating itself. Then you will die. Then you will only exist in a few other people's memories, perspectives, and (mis)interpretations.

Perhaps my poetry exaggerates these matters, but it's true that the real me not existing anymore is terrifying to me.

I hope that parts of me might still exist in my poetry, even if it tends towards the negative."

NEW from Blood Pudding Press! PEDIOPHOBIA by Daniel G. Snethen!

Tonight, within the final dark hours of Friday the 13th of December 2019, one night after the last full moon of the year, is the perfect night to introduce the creepy, crawly, scary, strangely rotating table of doll heads within a NEW Blood Pudding Press poetry chapbook! PEDIOPHOBIA by Daniel G. Snethen!

PEDIOPHOBIA's amalgamation of horrific dolls is Blood Pudding Press's style! Quirky, dark, darkly comedic, oddly disturbing, and twisted. Screaming eyed dolls and broken doll bodies. Dolls as killers, dolls as evil, dolls as gods, dolls as horror movie scenes, dolls as bloody apples, dolls as distorted bible verse.

PEDIOPHOBIA offers you sixteen peculiar poems by Daniel G. Snethen!

PEDIOPHOBIA artwork was created especially for this collection by Josh Birrittieri - an outside front cover, an inside front cover, and an outside back cover!

PEDIOPHOBIA has been printed and designed by Blood Pudding Press creature Juliet Cook, bound with yarn AND scraggly doll hair, but don't blame me if the doll hair bites you!

According to Daniel G. Snethen himself:

"My newest chapbook Pediophobia (Fear of Dolls) will soon be ready. It will be bound together by hand. Juliet Cook is the publisher and owner of Blood Pudding Press. Every copy will be handmade by her. Juliet is also an extraordinary poet herself. Josh Birrittieri did all the graphics for this chapbook and they are absolutely amazing. And I may be bragging a bit here, but I doubt you will find a better more complete collection of doll poetry anywhere. Many of the poems are creepy some are funny and a few are sad. One is a continuation of a famous episode from the Twilight Zone. One or two might even be considered demented. And several of them are peopled with personages I personally know. If you dare to read these and you know me, don't be too surprised if you recognize some of the characters and settings. If you hate dolls and find them creepy and disturbing, this slim volume of poetry is definitely for you. It will cure you of narcolepsy and will give you reason to run the light meter all eventide long. So please spend a few dollars and indulge yourself... your insanity is worth it."

"Green glassy eyed heads
Unblinking verdant eyed stares
Headless dolls of Hell"

(within the poem "Nightmare of Dolls")

*

"Dark human corpses piled
high on doll infested hills.
Unblinking dolls smiling,
keeping tally with their quills,
as people topple"

(within the poem "Doll Food")

*

"Fearfully, I turn and flee from the cottonwoods of doll heads but
not before hearing Mother weeping and crying out in her aged voice,
“My son, my son, why hast thou forsaken me!”"

(within the poem "Doll Heads")

A little less than a week to get your own copy of The Laura Poems!

“Death decides it is hungry”
for her stained slip, raw wrists,
mangled fish gills gasping, gaping,
glittered with red slime. (Every time
she grabbed handfuls of air
like invisible rungs. She tried
to hoist herself up, but
he grabbed handfuls of hair;
yanked her down again again again…)
